Wandering the Streets of Aix 🇫🇷✨

This 22-day journey (June 5-27, 2025) began with 4 magical days in Marseille & beyond—here's where my feet (and wheels!) took me: 🚗 Phase 1: Marseille & Surroundings ✈️ Shanghai → Marseille (3 nights) 🚙 Rented car at Marseille Provence Airport, then hit the road! Highlights: Manosque → Le Mont d'Or → Lavender fields 🌿💜 L'Occitane Factory/Museum → Valensole (old town & endless lavender!) Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (the "Ceramics Village") 🏺 Verdon Gorge & Sainte-Croix Lake (turquoise paradise!) 🏞️ Marseille landmarks: Cathedral, Longchamp Palace, Old Port, MuCEM, Notre-Dame de la Garde (sunset at Palais du Pharo!) 🌅 Day Trip to Cassis: First Calanques boat tour 🚤 Drove up Cap Canaille for epic Mediterranean views! 📞 Plot twist: Got a call from friends mid-trip at Parc du Mugel, raced back to Marseille Station to pick them up! 🚙 Marseille → Aix-en-Provence Strolled Aix's old town (Cézanne’s hometown vibes!) 🎨 Stayed at a farmhouse near Lourmarin 🌾 🗓️ June 9 (Monday): Cézanne’s Studio in Aix Cozy night at the farmhouse 🗓️ June 10 (Tuesday): Lourmarin: Camus’ former home & grave 📖 Marchal_artiste peintre (that perfect art gallery) 🖼️ Roussillon (ochre cliffs) → Gordes (hilltop magic) → Sénanque Abbey → Fontaine-de-Vaucluse 💦 Slept in Avignon 🗓️ June 11 (Wednesday): Orange: Roman Theatre & Triumphal Arch 🏛️ Avignon detour: Street performances + grocery run 🛒 Nîmes: Arena, Maison Carrée, Fountain Gardens (skipped Pont du Gard—next time!)
