Al Forno’s Crispy-Bottom Pizza in Providence!

🍕Four full years in Providence and I waited until the very last semester to try Al Forno’s legendary crispy-bottom pizza. WHY did no one drag me here sooner?! 🍕 The crust is paper-thin, blistered to an outrageous crunch at the edges yet still soft and chewy in the center, topped with house-simmered tomato sauce and cheese that pulls into worthy strands. Pure magic. 🥨The dishes rely on simple, fresh, seasonal produce, yet they always feel one-of-a-kind. A handful of specials rotate weekly, but the classics remain almost impossible to top. 🥨Opened in 1980, this place is basically the godfather of Providence pizza—New Yorkers road-trip here for a slice. Beyond the classic Margherita, the black-truffle and sausage pies are must-orders. 🧀Ending college with this meal feels like the perfect farewell to four years of undergrad life.
