8-Day Glacier Bay Cruise - Day 5📍Juneau, Alaska's Capital Our third port of call on this unforgettable journey! 🌲 A City Wrapped in Wilderness We docked at 7 AM after a hearty breakfast. Juneau, nicknamed "Little San Francisco" for its gold rush roots and hilly streets, is a historic town founded in 1880 after gold was discovered. The backdrop? Towering coastal mountains—check out my Photo 5⃣️ with three massive waterfalls fed by melting glaciers! 🦀 Downtown Vibes Boutiques and seafood shacks line the streets. While Alaskan king crab is legendary here, we learned most fresh crab gets shipped to cruise ships (over 1 million cruise visitors yearly!). Decided to save our seafood feast for the ship! 😆 🚡 Why Juneau Stole Our Hearts More fun than previous ports (yes, even with just a half-day!). The Mount Roberts Tramway offers epic views—if only we had more time! Locals were warm and welcoming—Alaskan hospitality at its best.
