Alaska Food Guide 🦀️ | Anchorage & Fairbanks 🍷 Anchorage Section: Glacier Brewhouse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A restaurant under the same company as the brewery. Their Seafood Chowder is highly recommended—you won’t be able to stop drinking it! It’s not as salty as chowders from other restaurants and is packed with flavorful ingredients. The pasta, fried calamari, and herb-seared halibut are all delicious. I also tried a raspberry cocktail, which was sweet, tangy, and refreshing. 👍👍 Korean Garden ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ordered a Budae Jjigae (army stew), which tasted like a standard version but only included sausage and mushrooms—no fish cakes, rice cakes, etc. If you’re looking to warm up after a glacier hike, it’s an okay choice. Overall, it’s an average Korean restaurant 🍴. Miso Sushi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The $26 Salmon Bento Box is super satisfying—highly recommended! Also, try the Ono Sashimi (White Tuna). Its texture is richer than salmon but less fatty, and the flavor is absolutely amazing. 🍷 Fairbanks Section: Fushimi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The sashimi is very fresh, and the oysters 🦪 are sweet and flavorful. The stir-fried udon isn’t greasy and has a great texture. It feels special to try Alaskan salmon and Alaskan oysters right here in Alaska! Lavellite ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The king crab legs are incredibly satisfying—especially dipped in their special melted butter. The flavor is out of this world! 👍 The lamb chops are also unique and delicious when paired with their kiki sauce 😋. However, the other dishes I ordered, including a pasta and a shrimp dish, were disappointing—I could barely eat a few bites. The Crepery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The crepes are delicious! I tried a crab-filled one and a bacon-sausage-egg-filled one—both were fantastic. Every bite was satisfying, crispy, and packed with flavor. A sweet crepe with fresh strawberries 🍓 and blueberries 🫐 was also delightful. Pho House ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A typical pho restaurant, but their shrimp rolls are excellent—generously stuffed with shrimp. Deli-Bought Strawberries 🍓 You must try Alaskan strawberries! Northern strawberries are so much better than southern ones—the colder the climate, the tastier and sweeter they are, with higher sugar content! I got a huge, super fresh box for less than $8 .
