Alaska Incomplete Food Guide

Alaska Incomplete Food Guide A super honest food guide with no ads—reviews are collective and sharp. Different strokes for different folks; personal taste is for reference only~ 📍 Anchorage Only had time to try three restaurants (and one takeout) 1️⃣ Mei’s Kitchen (Takeout) - Landed late at night and was starving, so ordered some Chinese food to curb the craving 🌙🍜. The spicy boiled beef was fragrant but a bit bland; the rest… let’s just say it was edible 😅 2️⃣ Seoul Garden - Authentic Korean food that totally hit the spot! Highly recommend Bossam and Kalbi—so flavorful! 🥩🔥 3️⃣ Miss 💣 Yamaya Japanese - Rushed here after reading it was a cozy izakaya 🏃‍♂️💨, but even with everyone starving, the meal was a letdown… There was only one grandpa working, service was super slow ⏳, the dishes were too salty, and the grilled skewers were oily 🍢😖. Grandpa was nice, but I won’t be returning… 4️⃣ Pho Lotus - Their Pad Krapao is absolutely amazing! If you like spice, go for medium spicy—it’s so satisfying 🌶️🍚💥 📍 Fairbanks (A Reality-Check Food Tour) 1️⃣ The Pump House - This famous Western restaurant was a letdown 😔—just average at best. The oysters were fresh 🦪, the salad was surprisingly good 🥗, and the coconut shrimp and calamari were tasty 🍤🍟. But the main dishes were mediocre: my friend’s halibut and lamb chops, and my seafood risotto (undercooked and salty). We left halfway through 🚶‍♀️💨. 2️⃣ Soba - Very Russian vibe 🇷🇺. First time having such delicious fried potatoes in a restaurant! Must-try: Raci (garlic crayfish) 🦞🧄—craving it already! The stewed meat in Mamaliga was also flavorful. Miss: Coltunasi cu cartofi (cheese dumplings) 🧀🥟—too greasy and dry to swallow… Also, I misordered Tocana cu mamaliga, thinking it had meat but it was all veggies 🥬😅 (good for vegetarians though!). 3️⃣ Lavelle’s Bistro - Very American feel 🇺🇸. The kitchen had an issue that day, so everything took forever—we were full from waiting (maybe the appetizers fermented in our stomachs…?) ⏰🍽️ My friends had lamb chops and steak; I had crispy pork belly. Let’s just say heavy meat dishes aren’t for me—got really greasy by the end 😖. But the creme brulee was excellent—dessert lovers rejoice! 🍮😍 #AlaskaFood#AnchorageFood#FairbanksFood#AlaskaRestaurants#AnchorageRestaurants#FairbanksRestaurantRecommendations
