Alaska Travel Guide | Fairbanks is NOT a Food Desert! 🍽️

Many say Fairbanks is a food desert, but we actually ate pretty well — maybe because we kept our expectations low and got nice surprises! 😄 🇹🇭 Lemongrass Thai Delicious! As a big Thai food fan, I’d say it’s not mind-blowing but definitely above average. Best part? No wait time, and the staff were super friendly! 🍛 Panang Curry – Sweet and spicy, my favorite! Adding seafood costs more but is worth it — huge scallops! 🍲 Tom Kha – Lemongrass coconut soup with a nice tangy kick. 🍢 Satay – Grilled chicken skewers with tasty dipping sauce. 🍜 Pad See Ew – Just okay. 🥤 Thai Iced Green Tea – Must try! Much fresher and lighter than regular Thai tea. 🍋 Lemon Thai Iced Tea – Pure unsweetened lemon black tea. 🇷🇴 Soba A popular Eastern European spot, but the wait was painfully long… we were starving by the time food came! 😅 🦞 Raci – Surprisingly delicious crawfish tails (a bit salty though). 🐖 Mamaliga – Stewed pork — many recommend it, but we thought it was average. 🥬 Sarmale – Cabbage-wrapped pork — also highly recommended but not our taste. 🍒 Cusma Lui Guguta – MUST ORDER! Unique cherry cream crepe — not like canned cherries, but fresh and tangy-sweet. 🍜 Zeama – Simple chicken noodle soup. 🥣 Supa De Mazare – Just regular pea soup. 🥤 Compot – Refreshing fruit drink, not too sweet. Also heard good things about their Honey Cake, Pelmeni, Costita De Porc, Paste Cu Creveti, etc. 🌯 Aurora Crepes & Peking Duck Chinese-style wraps — we tried Peking duck and lamb, both solid! Best to order online for pickup or delivery. 🥞 The Crepery French-style crepes — super popular with waits over 1 hour! 🕐 Better to order for pickup or delivery.
