Albany - Capital of New York

When I went out to grab food, I discovered Empire Live right next door. There was a Phantogram live show at 8:00 PM. Well, an American rock band with electronic psychedelic vibes—right at my hotel doorstep? Had to experience it! šŸ˜„ Bought the ticket around 6:00 PM for about $50, but by 7:00 PM, the price dropped to $40. Lesson learned: sometimes it pays to wait for last-minute tickets! šŸŽŸļø Dinner was at Emmanuel Thai Restaurant—I ordered a bowl of Tom Yum Noodles. šŸœ After eating, I took a stroll along the Hudson River walking path. 🌊 During the live show, I genuinely felt for the first time how short I am here—I’m practically a little dwarf! šŸ˜… If a tall person stood in front of me, I couldn’t see a thing. Nobody really held up their phones, and everyone kept a safe distance—no pushing, no "train-chasing" mosh pits. (Back home, I was always nervous about sudden crowd surges and pyrotechnics at music festivals.) The next day, I visited the New York State Capitol šŸ›ļø. Free tours are available at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM, each lasting about an hour. It’s stunning—absolutely gorgeous! When the building was completed in 1899, it cost $25 million to construct. Personally, I think it’s even more impressive than the U.S. Capitol in Washington! There are lots of fun little details too: Some carvings are unfinished or hastily sketched.Among the 78 carved faces, many were crafted freely by the stonemasons—no strict references!Didn’t take many photos, but captured some videos. Will share them after editing! šŸŽ„ Behind the Capitol is a plaza connecting to The Egg, Corning Tower, and the Museum. The Egg is currently closed, so I could only see the exterior. The Corning Tower offers free access to the 42nd floor for a 360-degree view of Albany. The museum is also free! Lunch was at The City Beer Hall—their beef burger was the best I’ve had in the past year! šŸ” (Though to be fair, I haven’t eaten many burgers in Manhattan lol.) The bun was crispy, and the patty was flavorful. After lunch, I headed to the next stop: Syracuse. The clouds I saw from the train were so beautiful! ā˜ļøāœØ #Albany #NYStateCapitol #TravelDiaries #ArchitecturalBeauty #HudsonRiver #PhantogramLive #FoodieFinds
