Albany - New York State Capital ๐ฝ
I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Albany-Downtown. While wandering for food, I discovered Empire Live right next door! ๐ต There was an 8:00 PM Phantogram show - perfect since it's my kind of electronic-psychedelic rock. I bought my ticket around 6:00 PM for about $50, but by 7:00 PM they were only $40. Lesson learned: sometimes patience pays off! ๐ฐ Dinner was at Emmanuel Thai Restaurant where I enjoyed a comforting bowl of Tom Yum soup ๐. After eating, I took a relaxing stroll along the Hudson River walkway ๐. At the concert, I truly felt like a little hobbit... ๐งโโ๏ธ A tall person in front completely blocked my view! The crowd was respectful thoughโpeople didn't raise their phones much and kept a comfortable distance. No pushing or mosh pits. The next day I visited the New York State Capitol. They offer free tours at 10:00, 12:00, and 2:00 that last about an hour. It was absolutely beautiful! When completed in 1899, it cost $25 million. I think it's even more stunning than the Capitol in Washington D.C. ๐๏ธ There are many fascinating details, like unfinished carvings and 78 sculpted facesโmany of which were the artists' creative expressions. I took more videos than photos, which I'll edit and share later. Behind the building, a plaza connects "The Egg," the Corning Tower, and a museum. While The Egg was closed, I went up the Corning Tower to the 42nd floor for a free 360ยฐ view of Albany ๐. Lunch was at The City Beer Hall where I had the best beef burger I've tasted in a year! ๐ The bread was perfectly crispy and the patty was incredibly flavorful. After lunch, it was time to head to the next stop: Syracuse. The clouds from the train window were absolutely beautiful โ๏ธ. #albany#newyork#AlburyNSW #HiddenGemAustralia #RoadTripFood
