Albury 🍂A Serene Healing Town on the State Border
Drove overnight from Melbourne to Sydney and passed through the lovely town of Albury. Though small, it’s full of warmth—locals even greet strangers on the street. Half a day is enough to explore it leisurely. Here are my recommendations: 🛣️ Gateway Village Features some quaint vintage shops (didn’t have time to visit this time 😢)Right next to the “Welcome to Victoria” and “Welcome to NSW” signs—fun to hop between two states in seconds! 📍 🌊 Hume Dam A tranquil dam on Lake Hume where the only sound is water rushing through the gates 🌿Perfect for quiet contemplation, just 20 minutes from downtown 🍁 Albury Botanic Garden A compact but cozy garden ⛲Was under renovation during my visit, but still a relaxing spot for a stroll 🍽️ Food Highlights Early Bird Cafe 🥪: A carefully decorated café with homemade bread. The brunch was decent, but the vibe was lovely 🥰 The local staff were super warm—even handwritten a mini travel guide for me! Oppy’s Pasta 🍝: Amazing handmade pasta! Tried the creamy mushroom pasta—rich, fragrant, and highly recommended! 🌟 💡 Final Notes If driving specially from Melbourne, the round trip is quite long—weigh your plans or enjoy the scenery along the way~ 🚗💨 #Albury #NSW #VictoriaBorder #SlowTravel #AustralianSmallTowns #RoadTripAustralia #HiddenGems
