My fiancé and I recently dined at Early Bird Cafe in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and while the service provided by the waitress was exceptional, we were unfortunately disappointed with the quality of the food.
First, let me highlight the positive aspect of our experience—the waitress. She was amazing and extremely attentive throughout our meal. She greeted us with a warm smile, was knowledgeable about the menu, and promptly took our orders. She made sure our glasses were never empty and checked in on us frequently, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Her exceptional service definitely enhanced our dining experience.
However, when it came to the food, we were left underwhelmed. Both my fiancé and I found the dishes we ordered to be lacking in flavor and overall quality. The presentation was decent, but the taste did not live up to our expectations. The ingredients seemed mediocre, and the dishes lacked the finesse and creativity we had hoped for. We were particularly disappointed with the lackluster seasoning and blandness of the flavors.
Considering the reputation of Early Bird Cafe, we expected a more enjoyable culinary experience. Unfortunately, the food fell short of our expectations, which was disappointing given the high level of service provided by the waitress.

I see Early Bird a few doors down, check their rating and decide to get takeout breakfast. I was stressed. Needing to eat added to it. I was quick when speaking to the waitress about my requirements because I was rushed. Being on point for work is important to me. I ordered, paid and took off, returning a while later to pick up my food. The waitress addressed my issues and dealt with me cordially. My food was delicious and I'm picky. Today, I returned to eat-in because the waitress was great with dealing with my short rushed prior visit. When she came by to see if I needed a coffee refill, I engaged her. I had to ask her name. " Lucy," she replied. I told her, I came back because she was great dealing with me because my morning frustrated me... Too many times people take it personally and give poor service. Lucy doesn't. Kudos to her. It's rare to find someone that gives service like her. With that written, Anastasia is my waitress this morning, so far I only wanted water at first, asked multiple questions about an item as a flood of customers arrived, ordered something different. When she returned, I'd dropped my fork and needed a new one. When she brought the fork, I decided I wanted coffee. She dealt with me and smiled in between and brought the coffee... I felt my shoulders and breathing relax as I took that first bite of heaven. Thank you Lucy...
Read moreWalked in with my family ( group of 3). We were told the wait would be 5 minutes. The lady pointed at the booth we would be sitting in and asked if it would be ok. We agreed and she took our names down and said to return in 5 minutes. Upon us waiting we noticed a car pulled In and the two men walked inside. We waited approximately 3 minutes before walking back inside. When we got in we noticed the two men were sitting at the booth that was offered to us. When we told the employee about she very rudly said" YOU GUY'S WERENT HERE. We told her " we were told to come back in 5 min and you took our name down". She then apologized non convincingly and said " well I already sat them so your going to have to wait for another table." I never have eaten from here but I will NEVER go back.
