Alexandria: A Hidden Gem Worth Visiting in the DMV Area
✍🏻️ Alexandria seems like a small town that’s not overrun by tourists, and it has a lot of character. I recommend that visitors traveling to DC consider staying here for a night. 🗺️ To the north, you can explore the main city area of DC, and to the south, you can visit George Washington’s estate. 📌 On the east side of the city, near the Potomac River, lies a quaint old town with houses in a variety of colors. Some houses have been artistically painted and decorated, giving the area a touch of artistic flair. It feels somewhat similar to Charleston, as both were developed around the same time in the New England region. 📌 Along the riverbank, there are parks for walking and exercising, and you can see the Capitol Hill and the Washington Monument across the river. There are also many restaurants by the river, offering a variety of cuisines, all in a relaxed atmosphere. 📌 The west side of the city features modern skyscrapers, with many federal agencies having branches here. The Department of Defense seems to be the most prominent, which is no surprise given its proximity to the Pentagon compared to other federal units. What’s remarkable is that, regardless of the time of day, the area is unusually quiet. The city’s grandeur doesn’t come with the expected hustle and bustle, making it exceptionally peaceful and livable. 📌 In the park at the southeastern corner of the city, you can see the boundary lines where Maryland, Virginia, and DC meet and intersect. #AmericanTravel #DMV
