Alila Big Sur|Another Life-Changing Hotel Experience Added 🌲✨

Among all the hotels I’ve stayed at in North America, Alila Big Sur gave me the first impression of being “completely secluded.” Driving along the long coastal mountain road, the accommodation area is separated by a gate from the outside world. The on-site restaurant, The Sur House, is open to non-guests as well, so it’s set a short distance from the rooms. If needed, you can simply text your butler, and a staff member will pick you up in a golf cart. Or, you can stroll over along the hotel’s scenic trail. I’d always heard the restaurant has Michelin-star-level quality, and after this visit, I totally agree—from dish selection to flavor and presentation, everything was refined. Sitting near the horizon, feeling the sea breeze while watching the sky slowly darken… It was such a soothing experience. 🌅 My second impression was “wholeness”—because the hotel occupies an entire mountainside, every man-made structure in sight belongs to the property. Beyond that, there are only giant redwood forests and the vast ocean. Apart from occasional mechanical sounds and the chirping of birds and insects, everyone—from guests to staff—speaks softly and moves slowly. You can’t help but relax completely. There are four pools in total, none overly large, but all temperature-controlled. The infinity pool beside the redwood forest and the Japanese-style hot spring in the central area are open 24 hours. At night, you can float quietly in the water and gaze at the stars. 🌌💫 I’ve also been curious about how the hotel handles insect control— You’ll still see busy bees among the flowers and occasionally meet little birds sneaking breakfast on the balcony, but there are no annoying mosquitoes or tiny flies. Maybe it’s thanks to the subtle sandalwood scent that lingers in every corner of the hotel? The staff are all very friendly and responsive—whenever they see you, they smile and check if you need help. Overall, highly recommended! Even though I live in Southern California, I’d love to come back often. Next post, I’ll share the cute dresses I brought on this birthday trip 👗🎂 P.S. There’s a super chubby tabby cat in the Social House check-in area—very lazy but super affectionate. If you pet him, he’ll lick your hand. So sweet, I adore him! 🐱💖 #LALife #HotelGoals #BoutiqueDesignHotel #Plog #HealingRetreat #DestinationForHotelLovers #Staycation #Alila #AlilaBigSur #HyattHotels #RedwoodRetreat #CoastalEscape #LuxuryInNature #StarGazing #PeacefulVibes
