All the Popular Brunch Spots in New Orleans Are Right Here!
Brunch is a big deal in NOLA, and these spots are the talk of the town—some amazing, some… well, let’s just say they’re memorable for the wrong reasons! 1. Ruby Slipper Café This place is super popular—there’s usually a line, and now I get why! Their Eggs Benedict is the star of the menu 🥚! When I first saw it on the menu, I thought, “How good can a basic Benedict be?” But one bite, and I was hooked. It’s a simple dish, but the execution is anything but ordinary—fluffy poached eggs, creamy hollandaise that’s not too rich, and a perfectly toasted English muffin. Even the “regular” items here feel special—no misses! 2. Atchafalaya A French-inspired brunch spot that I’d easily rank in my top 3 best brunches in the Eastern US 🌟! You can order pretty much anything, and it’ll be delicious—their menu is full of unique, creative French dishes, nothing like the generic brunch fare you find elsewhere. Duck Hash: Chef’s kiss—tender duck, crispy potatoes, and fresh veggies, all tossed in a savory sauce. Waffles: Light, fluffy, and slightly sweet—perfect on their own or with a side of fruit. Cocktails: Even the drinks are top-tier—well-balanced and refreshing, the ideal brunch pairing. The atmosphere is cozy and chic, and the service is friendly too. The only downside? It’s a bit far from downtown—worth the trip, though! 3. Bearcat I’ve never had a worse brunch anywhere in the world—and that’s saying something 😤! We showed up right when they opened and still waited 10 minutes. We ordered their “popular dishes,” but all we could taste was salt—no other flavors came through. It was practically inedible. To make it worse, the service was terrible… but they still forced a 20% tip! (I promise my opinion on the food isn’t biased by the tip or service—this was genuinely bad.) Bonus: Two Coffee Shops (One Hit, One Miss) ☕ Café Du Monde Their coffee is so overhyped—it’s just as bad as Bearcat’s brunch. It tastes like I took the coffee I make at home, diluted it with 2 liters of water, and called it a day. They might as well just ask for $7 directly instead of pretending to serve a “coffee” 🫠. ☕ French Truck Coffee After the disaster at Café Du Monde, I needed a good coffee to save my morning—and this spot delivered! Their coffee is delicious: the beans are fragrant, and it’s perfectly brewed (no watery mess here). It’s a no-frills spot, but the quality speaks for itself—my new go-to coffee in NOLA ☕️! #Brunch #NewOrleansFood #NewOrleansTravel
