ADDENDUM (year 3) : ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END 😭.
Now you can call it bean-water. They have changed the way things are made, and it's not good.
They have switched to an automated espresso machine taking all the artisan out of the coffee and watering it down considerably… caring more about their bottom line than the integrity of their product. I can't pretend that I'm not heartbroken… but let's be honest, I will save a ton of money not spending $6 on a cup of coffee every day... silver linings.
(Ps the staff is LOVELY and worth a stop just to appreciate them)
------- below is the old review -------
This is the best coffee in the city and quite possibly in the country. I travel the country for work six months out of the year and coffee is sort of my thing. While I'd be happy to put back a pumpkin spice latte... It's just not the same as putting back a well-cared-for cup of coffee. That's what this is! The latte is Rich robust and creamy... The New Orleans iced coffee is my personal addiction. Enjoy!
ADDENDUM (2 years later): I still have this coffee every day... I would just like to address the 1 and 2 star reviews...
This is not the flavorless bean water that you're gonna get at the place with the mermaid logo! If that's what you like there's like 4 of them within walking distance of French truck. If you like genuine coffee… made with quality espresso and often with chicory... This is for you.
If you delete stars because your bagel wasn't toasted the way you like it… my eyes are rolling so hard that I can see the front of my brain. If you want breakfast...
Read moreI liked French Truck Coffee so much I came here twice on my short weekend getaway to New Orleans. Both times, I ordered the New Orleans iced coffee. I've only had New Orleans iced coffee at Blue Bottle, but I knew that I needed to try this signature NOLA coffee drink while I was here.
Sorry Blue Bottle, but I have a new favorite for New Orleans iced coffee. French Truck Coffee's chicory blend is mixed with milk and simple syrup for an iced favorite that will reinvigorate your spirits. You can ask for almond milk if whole milk isn't your thing. Next time I visit a French Truck Coffee, I plan to try their Oji drip which is a Japanese-style slow brewed coffee that cuts down the acidity in coffee.
My BF ordered an espresso the first time and a hibiscus tea the second time. He enjoyed both; in fact, he preferred the espresso here at French Truck over the espresso he ordered from Stumptown at the Ace. The baristas here are very serious about their brewing methods, and they took meticulous care in ensuring the perfect cup. We even overheard them discuss brewing passionately.
They have several locations in New Orleans (one on Magazine Street and one on Dryades Street), as well as Baton Rouge and in Memphis, Tennessee. The original location is the one on Magazine Street, which is a walk-up coffee bar attached to the roasting facility. Apparently, they deliver their blends too and if you order online, the actual French Truck Coffee yellow truck will show up. I like this location's open and bright layout, perfect for reading a book or catching up...
Read moreAmazing coffee! I would recommend everyone to go there. Really clean spot to say it’s in the French Quarters. My husband and I came in and we were immediately greeted by a petite girl with beautiful smile. I cannot remember her full name, I think it’s something with a K, but she was training with an unfamiliar face to me Tee. I am always coming to French truck for coffee because it’s very convenient for me. I got a chance to have chat with Tee and she told me she was the new GM there. Such a pleasant person. I stopped coming over about 2 or 3 months because I didn’t feel like the workers wanted to be there. Everyone looked so miserable. Yesterday, was my 1st day back and it was THE BEST EXPERIENCE ever!! My husband was having a bad day yesterday, and his face showed it. Tee told him a joke and he cracked up and thanked her. Sorry the post is so long but I had to tell you guys about the great experience we had. I’ll definitely be coming back more often. Tee and the team made me feel home again. I feel like she’s family now lol. Definitely a 10 out of 10 experience. Everyone was...
