Amazing Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Portland | Highly Recommended
🦀️ Powell's Seafood Restaurant6633 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR 97206 I found this restaurant online—many food bloggers mentioned you can buy fresh seafood at ABC Seafood Company next door and bring it here for processing. But I wasn’t feeling well that day, so I just walked in and ordered directly from their menu 🤒. To my delight, their dishes were full of that wonderful “wok hei” (the smoky flavor from stir-frying in a hot wok)—so delicious that I felt much better after eating. It totally comforted my Chinese stomach during the trip, and I can’t recommend it enough! Shrimp Roe Vermicelli Pot: This was the first dish to arrive, and it was a total surprise ✨. The portion was huge—my friend and I couldn’t finish it and had to take leftovers. The vermicelli was seasoned perfectly, with a rich, savory taste, and it had scrambled eggs mixed in along with shrimp roe. The roe popped slightly when I bit into it, adding a fun texture and a subtle briny sweetness. It’s so worth trying—aromatic and utterly satisfying. Crab with Scallions & Ginger: Priced by the market rate, it was around $48 per crab when we went, and we ordered one 🦀. It was surprisingly large, with super fresh meat that tasted sweet and tender. Even though we were both really hungry, we just finished it—every bite was juicy, and the scallion-ginger sauce complemented the crab’s natural flavor without overpowering it. Shrimp with Premium Soy Sauce: They brought out salt-and-pepper shrimp by mistake at first, then swapped it for this dish 😅. I originally thought it would be boiled shrimp with soy sauce for dipping, but it turned out different (I even wondered if they just re-seasoned the salt-and-pepper shrimp). Since the first two dishes were so amazing, this shrimp felt pretty average—nothing stood out compared to the others. Chinese Broccoli: It’s a standard vegetable dish, so I won’t give it a special recommendation 🥦. But when you’re traveling, you really crave fresh veggies, and this one had that nice wok hei too—I still enjoyed it for being a simple, tasty side. 💰 For two people and four dishes, the total was around $100. If I ever get a chance to visit Portland again, I’ll definitely try what other bloggers suggested: buying seafood at ABC Seafood Company next door and having it processed here. The selection should be wider, the seafood even fresher, and the prices more affordable (I really wish Philadelphia had a place like this too)! #ShanDawangSeesTheWorld #Oregon #OregonTravelGuide #OREGON #PortlandFoodExploration #PortlandFood #Seafood #RoadTrip #HiddenGemRestaurant #Portland #PrivateSmallRestaurant #FoodExploration #FoodAndFun
