America’s Oldest Baptist Church ⛪️

⭐I was truly amazed by this first Baptist church in America! Although the Baptist tradition didn’t originate in the U.S., ⭐ this incredibly well-preserved church is a living fossil of American religious history — tucked right in the heart of downtown Providence. 🔷The visit was super interesting! It starts with a 15-minute intro video, then you get to enter the main sanctuary. 🔷 The chapel is absolutely stunning — with classic stained-glass windows, wooden pews, and a pulpit that’s remained unchanged since the 18th century. 🌱What moved me the most was meeting an incredibly passionate church volunteer who explained every detail with engaging stories. 🌱It’s bittersweet to hear that the congregation now has only 91 members trying hard to keep this place alive… Such a beautiful historic building truly deserves to be seen by more people! #AmericanHistory #ReligiousArchitecture #Providence
