An Evening City Walk Route in Victoria's Inner Harbour ๐๐๐ง
Victoria's Inner Harbour is way more bustling than Nanaimo's bay! ๐๐ Here, you'll find more historic buildings, restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. I highly recommend staying at a hotel nearbyโthere are plenty of chain options, or you could try the iconic, century-old Fairmont Empress Hotel. ๐จโจ We drove from Nanaimo to Victoria Harbour in the afternoon ๐๐จ and started with a delicious Japanese meal at YUA. I totally recommend YUAโit's amazing! ๐ฃ๐ Afterward, we wandered along the couple of streets bordering the harbor. From YUA, heading north leads you straight to Victoria's Chinatown. ๐ฎ๐ถโโ๏ธ Heading south, you'll eventually reach the Parliament Buildings at the southernmost tip. ๐๏ธ๐ Along the way, you'll pass numerous shops, the historic Royal Hotel, and various garden restaurants. This area truly lives up to its reputation as a "Garden City"โeven ordinary restaurants and neighborhoods are adorned with floral garlands. ๐ธ๐ก The old houses here retain their original charm, with intricately carved beams and pillars preserved in perfect condition. I'm not sure if they've been restored, but if they have, it's been done seamlessly. The ivy-covered walls, in particular, evoke memories of the classic story "The Last Leaf" from my childhood textbooks. ๐๐ In the evening, most buildings are bathed in golden sunlight. โ๏ธ๐๏ธ The sky truly starts to darken around 8:30 to 9:00 PM, when everything takes on a soft, gray-blue hue. ๐๐ It's absolutely stunning! This round-trip walk takes about an hour and a halfโperfect for an evening stroll. ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ Sending virtual hugs! ๐ค #NorthAmericanLife #UrbanRomanceLandmarks #TravelTheWorldAndCheckItOut ๐๐ธ
