🍺Located in downtown Des Moines, HoQ restaurant attracted us with its distinct industrial-style decor and emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. 🍒 We chose to dine here after a matinee show, drawn not only by its strong reputation and local recommendations but also by its metropolitan atmosphere. 🍊The menu primarily features ingredients from Iowa-based suppliers (with the exception of seafood), reflecting a commitment to supporting regional agriculture. ✨We started with a burger and fries—the burger was rich and flavorful, while the fries were savory and perfectly complemented a casual chat over drinks. 🧀Although the steak was served with a well-seasoned sauce, the meat itself was somewhat tough and less tender than expected. 🥣On the other hand, the pan-seared salmon accompanied by risotto was delightful—the fish was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the risotto was creamy and satisfying. #DesMoines #IndustrialChic #DowntownDining
