Anajak Thai 🇹🇭 Under the Crown of an Award-Winning Restaurant

After the meal, was I disappointed? Angry? Confused? 🤯 Overall, it felt like tap-dancing all over my dining deal-breakers, yet somehow we survived. Thai food is supposed to be affordable, generous, and satisfying—but this place left us waiting in the cold (literally and figuratively) for the next tiny plate. Maybe booking a month in advance set my expectations too high, or maybe I’m just not “refined” enough for this kind of upscale Thai experience. Either way, my mind is full of question marks. ❓ The flavors themselves were okay—but the portions were laughably small while the prices were double what they should be. This place is clearly for those who take one delicate bite, put down their fork, and say, “Amazing.” 🍽️✨ 🥗 Papaya salad the size of a fist for $15—so small that everyone at the table had to politely pick at it strand by strand. 🐟 The whole fish was split in half, and we were served only one half. It tasted good—but avoid if you dislike cilantro. 🐷 The seasoning was creative—I liked it! But the ridiculous part? I took three slices from one side, and all were overwhelmingly fatty. That was already a quarter of the dish gone. 🐔 The fried chicken was the best—crispy on the outside, juicy inside. Using rice flour for the batter really works for Thai-style fried chicken. 🍜 Drunken noodle was just average—not a hint of wow factor. The servers were busy and attentive on the surface, but it felt performative: 1️⃣ When ordering, after hearing one of us couldn’t eat spicy food, they flatly said spice levels couldn’t be adjusted for any dish—and exaggerated how spicy everything was. 🌶️😒 2️⃣ They changed plates frequently but didn’t care if we were still eating—just swapped them out abruptly. 3️⃣ Before the meal, they said mango sticky rice could be added anytime. After the meal? “It’ll take 30 minutes.” When we hesitated, they said 20, then 15 after we refused. Unnecessary games. 🥭⏳ Enough said—I need to revisit Thai Town soon to restore my faith in real Thai food. 🙏 Have you been to Anajak Thai? What did you think—was it worth the hype?
