Anajak Thai Food 💥 Not Impressed

Had to book two days in advance just to get a 4 PM seating—and right after we sat down, the entire restaurant filled up! 😳🔥 You can tell this place is seriously popular. Almost every table ordered the famous fried chicken! 🍗 Gotta give credit to the fried chicken—half a chicken cut into five pieces, with an super crispy skin. The meat was lightly marinated, flavorful and not dry at all. The restaurant also has a great selection of Western liquors, which probably pair nicely with the chicken. 🍷👌 But besides that... I was pretty disappointed with the other dishes. 😅 🥗 Papaya Salad: The portion was tiny, and the spiciness was no joke—like, take two bites and you need water ASAP! 🌶️💦 I can handle spice, but this was more “spicy without depth” than flavorful. 🍜 Spicy Drunken Noodles: Also a small portion, and the taste leaned too sweet—felt tailored for a non-Thai palate. Missing those complex layers of herbs and spices you’d expect from real Thai cuisine. 🥭 Mango Sticky Rice: Honestly not great. The sticky rice was on the harder side, and the seasoning was heavy—way too salty and sweet at the same time. Felt like a burden on the palate, with none of that light coconut balance. 🥥👎 The restaurant is pretty small, and the music was SO loud—we had to almost shout to have a conversation! 🎵🗣️ In my opinion, almost any spot in LA’s Thai Town beats this place. 💔 Have you been to Anajak? What did you think—especially if you’ve tried their fried chicken? Or do you have a favorite Thai restaurant in LA?
