Ann Arbor’s Cute State Street CafĆ© + Bakery – Pretty Drinks, Tasty Bites (Perfect for Winter!) 🫧 I’ve walked past this spot on State Street countless times, but only popped in when my friend from Chicago wanted coffee—and I’m so glad we did! It’s a cozy combo of cafĆ© and bakery, with stunning presentation for drinks, breads, and cakes. While I haven’t tried the sweets yet (more on that later!), the savory bites and coffee won me over. Here’s the lowdown ā˜•ļø! ā˜•ļø Coffee: Asian-Friendly Flavors, Winter Warmers We ordered two specialty lattes, and both were way better than plain lattes or Americanos—they taste like the unique, flavorful drinks you’d find in Beijing, which is a nice change for Ann Arbor: Sea Salt Cream Caramel Latte: Coffee flavor is mild, but the sea salt + caramel combo is rich and balanced—sweet, with a subtle salty kick that keeps it from being cloying. Coconut Cream Latte: Coconut flavor is bold (in the best way!)—creamy, tropical, and so comforting. Both are on the sweeter side, but they’re delicious—easily tied with Starbucks’ chestnut lattes as my top winter drinks 🌰! 🄐 Breads: Trendy & Savory (Great for Breakfast!) This place has all the viral bakery items—flattened croissants, pistachio croissants, strawberry croissants… Ann Arbor’s getting so trendy, I love it 😌! I picked two savory options for breakfast: Egg-Filled Pastry: Flaky, buttery, and stuffed with a soft, seasoned egg—warm and satisfying, perfect for grabbing on the go. Prosciutto Pastry: Crispy crust with salty prosciutto inside—simple, but the saltiness pairs great with the buttery dough. No duds here—both were fresh and tasty! šŸ° Cakes: Pretty & Tempting (On My Next List!) The cake display is eye candy—Basque cheesecake, mousses, birthday cakes… all look (exquisite) and delicious. I didn’t try any this time, but I’m already planning a return trip to taste the Basque cheesecake—stay tuned for a follow-up repo! šŸ’° Price: Reasonable for Central Campus Given it’s in a prime Central Campus spot (where rent is pricey!), the prices are fair. My two savory pastries cost $11 total—way more accessible than driving out to Tous Les Jours (great for anyone without a car šŸ‘šŸ¼). 🌟 Final Verdict: A New Go-To for Coffee & Bites This cafĆ©/bakery is perfect for grabbing a winter latte, a savory breakfast pastry, or even a pretty cake for a small celebration. It’s cozy, the staff is friendly, and the flavors hit that sweet spot for Asian tastes. I’ll be back soon—this time to try the cakes and maybe a pistachio croissant! #CoffeeShopTreats #DessertsHealAll #StudentFoodie #AnnArborFoodie #MichiganFoodie #UniversityOfMichiganAnnArbor #AnnArborCafĆ© #WinterDrinks
