Another Thai restaurant in Boston with style and flavor
š Thaiger Den: Maldenās Thai-Steak Hybridā$29 Ribeye? Yes, Please Iāve had my eye on this spot since it openedāpeeked through the windows, scrolled Yelp photos, then waited for the opening rush to die down. Smart move: Saturday night was chill, the food was solid, and that $29 ribeye? Mind-blowing. š“ The Hits (and One Miss) Ribeye Steak: š„ RUN, donāt walk. Tender, perfectly seasoned (mildly sweet-savory), and huge. I canāt think of any other restaurantāsave for tiny rural spots or budget chainsāwhere youād get a ribeye this good for under $30. Itās the star here, no contest. Thai-Style Pork Cheek: š¢ Perfect for drinking. A little fatty (in the best way), with that classic Thai balance of sweet and salty. Pair it with a beer or cocktailāyou wonāt regret it. Salad with House Dressing: š„¬ Unexpectedly nostalgic. The dip tasted exactly like the sauce from Chinese northeastern ādip vegetablesāātangy, garlicky, and so moreish. Who knew Thai salad could hit that homey note? Mango Sticky Rice: š„ Close, but not quite. The sticky rice was chefās kiss (creamy, coconutty, perfect), but the mango was a little too tart. Still, I ate every biteāyou canāt go wrong with this combo. š¹ The Extras Full bar, friendly service, and a relaxed vibeāno stuffiness here. Itās casual enough for a weeknight, but nice enough for a weekend treat. š When to Go 157 Pleasant St, Malden. Iām already planning my return to try more dishes (and maybe another ribeye⦠no shame). #BostonSteak #ThaiFusion #BudgetEats
