**Musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux (CAPC)** Nina Beier, Auto 08.03.24-08.09.24 🍓 I originally came to Bordeaux just for a vacation, but I unexpectedly discovered that Bordeaux is a city rich in artistic atmosphere. In addition to this contemporary art museum with its rich content, there is also the world's largest digital art center, les bassins des lumières, which are both worth visiting. The pictures in my notes are from the special exhibition at the contemporary art museum, featuring Danish artist Nina Beier. This artist participated in this year's Art Basel and is a creator whose works exude a strong sense of substance. 🫙 Seeing Nina's work for the first time, I could feel the familiarity that the objects conveyed to me. Compared to traditional easel paintings and sculptures, the objects Nina chooses all come from everyday life. In the exhibition, you can see marble lions, remote-controlled cars, jia, elephant slides, fake porcelain, birdcages, plastic vegetables, and more. She doesn't create any language; she only uses the objects themselves to let them form a natural dialogue. Hair or wedding dresses, jia or real handbags, ceramic dogs and ceramic vases—A and B, real and fake, serve as a metaphorical artistic language to convey her thoughts on opposing elements such as preciousness and mediocrity, reality and falsehood. 🍆 In addition to the special exhibition, CAPC also has permanent exhibitions, including a collection spanning over fifty years related to the city and its history. The architecture itself, with its regional characteristic limestone-based vaulted design, is also worth a visit. It's recommended to allocate about an hour and a half to carefully view the exhibition.
