One-Michelin Star 🌟 French Restaurant Under Château Angélus!
A Must-Visit for the Best Value! During our visit to Château Angélus 🏰, the staff introduced us to the estate's topography, mentioning that the château has a private garden growing mushrooms🍄! These mushrooms are exclusively supplied to their restaurant, Restaurant Logis de la Cadène, located in the town of Saint-Émilion, and it's a Michelin one-star 🌟 gem! It was the season for the first batch of mushrooms, and after our wine tasting, it was lunchtime, so we headed straight to the restaurant! Since we had a schedule to visit another winery, we chose the smaller set menu: 🍄 The appetizer was their special supply of mushrooms! A tart of raw and cooked mushrooms, drizzled with a rich mushroom soup! Each bite was a burst of freshness! Cutting into the tart revealed a hidden surprise! A runny egg yolk spread out, and the strong aroma of the yolk paired surprisingly well with the mushrooms! It was so delicious that we cleaned the plate with bread! 🍗 The main course was chicken breast, which might seem ordinary, but it was crispy-skinned and tender, served with stuffed small squash flowers and egg caviar mousse, then a hint of sourness in the sauce that perfectly complemented the dish! 🍑 The dessert was peach, which hit the spot for me because I don't like very sweet desserts, and this fruit dessert was just right to finish the meal! 🍷 For the wine pairing, we ordered a bottle of the 2012 Château Angélus because we were pleasantly surprised by it during our tasting at the château. Trying an older vintage was a great choice, and it didn't disappoint! It was richer than the 2019 vintage we tasted earlier. I recommend everyone to pair it with Angélus when dining here~ 🥂 We were fortunate to meet the Asian regional director of Château Angélus at the restaurant, and she treated us to a taste of their self-produced white wine!! Château Angélus's white wine is exclusively for their own consumption and is not sold to the public! We were thrilled!! It was as rich and full-bodied as their red wine, in a word: delicious! This meal was truly satisfying, and the lunch set menu was only 55 euros!!! A real value for money, excellent! It's hard to stomach the thought of spending seventy to a hundred euros on an average French meal in Paris these days... So, friends visiting Bordeaux, don't miss out~ #MichelinRestaurantExploration #HiddenGemRestaurants #RestaurantRecommendations #France #BordeauxFood #FrenchCuisine #ChateauAngélus #WineTasting #LocallyRecommendedRestaurants
