Around Irvine|A Sushi Spot with Pleasant Surprises – EAT'S SUSHI 🍣✨
Yes, I’m eating Japanese food again — this place came highly recommended, so I had to give it a try! Sashimi: My favorite was the New Style Octopus 🐙 Infused with black and white truffle oil, brightened with hints of lemon and yuzu — taking the simple yet textured octopus slices to another level! The thickness was just right, though my friend wished they were thicker for more chew (maybe he’s used to chewing gum 😄). Appetizer: Tako Wasabi We only ordered one small dish — because my friend loves octopus in all forms 🐙! But here’s the tip: wrap a piece of shiso leaf, some onion shreds, and a few wasabi octopus bits into a taco — it’s a whole new experience! Definitely try it this way! The side cucumber slices were refreshing — similar to Sprite-pickled cucumber! Handroll: Eel & Salmon Skin The salmon skin was a bit over-toasted — crispy but slightly bitter. But the eel handroll was generously stuffed with two large pieces of eel — more eel than rice! Can you handle that? 😲 Roll: Black Spider Roll I was shocked when it arrived — good thing we didn’t order more 😅 This roll was huge — as big as my palm! Eel, tuna paste, avocado 🥑 — all my favorites! So satisfying! Entree: Beef Teriyaki I have to seriously rave about this one!! No joke — it’s better than steaks I’ve had at many fusion restaurants! They use ribeye 🥩 with onions underneath — the only nitpick is the slightly sweet sauce. Otherwise, it’s just like a classic steakhouse back home! Perfect cook, ideal fat ratio, and the beef aroma really shines — quality meat! And the best part: only $11.99 — you can’t even buy and pan-fry it at home for that price! Salad: Avocado Salad Loved their ginger dressing — tangy and sweet, refreshing and great for balancing out the chill from raw foods while cleansing the palate. So thoughtful! ~ Wasabi: Freshly grated wasabi! I really liked their wasabi — it’s real grated horseradish with a bit of texture, not the industrial paste! Final thoughts: In its price range, this place clearly cares about quality and flavor — they don’t cut corners for profit. This whole spread came to $47 per person, and we couldn’t even finish it — and we barely ordered any sushi! Another successful food adventure! 🎉🍱 #LosAngeles #LALife #Irvine #Foodie #IrvineLife #UCI #JapaneseFood #RestaurantRecommendation #FoodReview #WeekendEats
