Asheville Food | Random Find Outshined the Recommendations 😶

We only had one full day in Asheville, which meant just two meals: lunch and dinner. For lunch, we picked a Spanish restaurant based on a recommendation from Xiaohongshu. For dinner? We just walked into a random spot. šŸ“ CĆŗrate | Spanish Restaurant Located in downtown Asheville with street parking available. It’s definitely popular—even past the usual lunch hour, it was still packed. Here’s what we tried: šŸ”… Squid Ink Paella: Jet black and seriously salty. The server portions it for you tableside based on headcount. ļæ½ļø Mushrooms: A mix of varieties, sour and salty. I liked it, but if you’re not into tangy flavors, skip it (my mom wasn’t a fan). šŸ”… Octopus & Mashed Potatoes: Pretty standard. The octopus was tender, but nothing extraordinary. My mom preferred this one. Overall: Pricey šŸ’ø, small portions, average flavor. Just… fancy. āŒ Not recommended. Low value for money. šŸ“ DEL VECCHIOS | Italian Restaurant Located further out, near the highway (if I remember correctly). A casual American-style spot specializing in pizza and pasta. We stumbled in hungry—and were blown away! (Even my mom, who usually doesn’t like this type of food, loved it.) šŸ• Supreme Pizza: Loaded with sausage, beef, mushrooms, peppers, and olives. 14 inches—HUGE! The server had to put it on a separate table! šŸ§„ Garlic Knots: Super tasty with housemade tomato sauce. We got 6—just right. šŸ Fresh Tomato and Basil Pasta: Delicious and generously portioned. Came with two bread rolls on top. (If you order this, maybe skip the garlic knots—they’re the same bread, and it’s a lot of food!) #HiddenGemEats #Asheville #FoodReview
