ASP Art Stroll | Noguchi Garden Museum @ Takamatsu (1)🌟✨
📚Yuji Akimoto (currently the director of the University Art Museum at Tokyo University of the Arts) recalls in his book "The Birth of Naoshima" that he joined Fukutake Publishing in 1991 and began working on the art development of Naoshima. 🌿One of the sources of inspiration for the museum's design concept is the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum. 📚✨ Isamu Noguchi A student of Brancusi, Noguchi also pursued essence over form itself. 🎨✨ His works are simple, minimalist, and abstract, appearing almost natural. 🌿His main creations are stone sculptures, but he also ventured into stage design, parks, gardens, and furniture. One of his most well-known designs is the Akari light—a paper shade on a bamboo frame. 🌿✨ 🎨✨ Noguchi's Background 🌿Noguchi, of Japanese-American descent, primarily lived and developed his career in New York, where the Noguchi Museum (a hidden gem in Queens) is located. In 1930, at the age of 26, Noguchi traveled to China, where he met Qi Baishi and studied Chinese painting. 🎨✨ His understanding of Eastern art and culture deepened significantly during this period. 🎨✨ #Takamatsu 🌇✨
