Atlanta 2-Day Car-Free Travel Guide 1.0 🚶♀️🌆
Here’s a practical guide for exploring Atlanta without a car — with honest tips and highlights! ⚠️ Safety First Atlanta’s safety can be unpredictable. I strongly advise against solo travel for women. On the metro, we witnessed a person with a 🔫 just meters away — a tense situation that ended safely but was deeply unsettling. If you must travel alone, use Uber/Lyft exclusively and wait indoors for rides. 🚇 Public Transportation 1️⃣ Metro (MARTA) Download the Breeze Mobile 2 app 💳 Reload funds digitally → each ride costs $2.50 From the airport, take the North Springs line to downtown Trains are old and not always comfortable — avoid empty cars and late-night rides 2️⃣ Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) Lyft is often cheaper than Uber — compare via Google Maps 🚗 Most attractions are in downtown/midtown → short, affordable rides Airport to downtown: ~$25 (we stayed 8 mins from the aquarium) 🌤️ Weather Early May mornings are cool (light long sleeves suffice), but afternoons get hot and humid! ☀️ 🏨 Accommodation + Food We stayed downtown — quiet, safe, and within walking distance of the aquarium and World of Coca-Cola 🥤 Avoid areas south of downtown; midtown isn’t always necessary despite popular advice. 🍽️ Food Recommendations: 1️⃣ Urban Hai (Chinese) – Solid but not exceptional. The boiled beef was decent, but my Egyptian friend loved it! 🥢 2️⃣ Atlanta Breakfast Club – Famous local spot opens at 6 AM. Try the chicken & waffle sandwich with maple syrup 🍗🧇 3️⃣ Politan Row at Colony Square – Food hall with diverse options + great surrounding restaurants 🍜🌮 📍 Sample 2-Day Plan Day 1: Georgia Aquarium 🐋 World of Coca-Cola 🥤 Centennial Olympic Park ⛲ Dinner at Politan Row Day 2: Breakfast at Atlanta Breakfast Club Explore Midtown art districts 🎨 Martin Luther King Jr. Site (if time allows) Lyft back to airport ✈️ #AtlantaTravel #CarFreeTravel #TravelSafe #GeorgiaAquarium #SouthernEats
