Auckland Day 2

The daytime Auckland feels like a completely different city — shedding the slightly worn vibe of the night, glowing under clear sunlight and crisp air. Everyone on the street seemed happy and free (or maybe it’s just my vacation mood talking haha 😄). We woke up late due to jet lag and started our day around noon. Wandered around downtown, passed through a little park, walked by Auckland University, then hopped on a ferry to Devonport. Couldn’t help but admire how beautiful the natural environment is here — even the air smells like fresh plants and greenery 🌿⛴️. For dinner, we tried the famous Depot. It’s known for oysters on Xiaohongshu, so we each had two… honestly, they were just okay — pretty similar to oysters elsewhere. We also ordered grilled octopus, roasted potato skins, and a steak. Personally found the flavors a bit average, and the sauces that came with each dish tasted kinda odd. Even the ketchup the server brought didn’t taste like regular ketchup… not sure what was up with that 🤔. If you have to wait in line, maybe not worth it — but we went around 5:30 PM, got seated at the bar without waiting. It was already full though! Oh, and the chocolate milk in Pic 6 🥛🍫 — really tasty! Not a famous brand, but smooth, rich in chocolate flavor… definitely a win! All in all, another happy day in Auckland ✨ (Still fighting jet lag… wide awake at 2 AM 😅🌙) #Auckland #NZTravel #Devonport #DepotEats #TravelDiaries #JetLagLife
