Auckland Food Desert? Not at All! Try These Hidden Gems Blindly😋🍟

People always say Auckland is a "food desert", but as a seasoned foodie, I totally disagree! This city is packed with diverse cuisines, from high-end fine dining to street food, local seafood to international dishes, and you can always find something that hits the spot. Especially around the Sky Tower, there are plenty of food spots. Today, I'm going to share them with you~ 🌊 Must-Try Local Seafood New Zealand's seafood is always a highlight, and as a coastal city, Auckland's seafood is incredibly fresh: New Zealand Oysters: Served with special lemon juice or sauce, one bite is full of the sweetness of the sea. They are smooth and tender, so fresh that it's amazing. You can find them in many seafood restaurants and oyster bars. Green-lipped Mussels: The meat is plump and chewy. Whether boiled or grilled with garlic, you can taste the original sea flavor, which is a staple on local tables. New Zealand Beef and Lamb: Char-grilled lamb shoulder is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the muttony smell perfectly handled; ribeye steak cooked to medium rare is full of juice, with an intense meaty flavor. 🏙️ Hidden Food Gems Around the Sky Tower As Auckland's landmark, the SkyCity near the Sky Tower is full of surprises: Andy's Burgers & Bar: Specializes in American burgers with thick and juicy patties, paired with crispy fries. One bite is super satisfying, and the price is great. Burger sets range from 16 to 32 NZD, making it the "king" of fast food. Orbit 360° dining: A revolving restaurant on the Sky Tower, where you can enjoy New Zealand's seasonal cuisine while overlooking the city panorama, full of ritual. Seafood platters and steaks are the specialty here. Cassia: Blends high-quality New Zealand ingredients with Indian flavors. Rich curries and charred tandoori chicken are full of exotic charm, representing exquisite Indian cuisine. Huami: Specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine, covering Sichuan, Cantonese and Shanghai flavors. Wood-roasted Peking duck has crispy skin and tender meat, and hand-made dumplings are fresh and juicy, allowing you to taste familiar Chinese flavors in a foreign country. 🍜 International Street Food Auckland's multiculturalism has created a wealth of international street food, which is cheap and delicious: Eden Noodles: Specializes in Sichuan Dan Dan noodles, both dry and soupy versions are super flavorful. Paired with spicy wontons, it's spicy and fragrant, and you can eat your fill for less than 30 NZD per person. Peach’s Hot Chicken: Authentic Nashville-style fried chicken with crispy skin and tender inside, with optional spiciness. The signature Baller sandwich is a must-try for foodies, but there's often a queue. Lalele Organic Gelato: Hand-made organic gelato, with mango smoothie and salted caramel flavors as the best-sellers. The texture is creamy and smooth. Having one after a meal is refreshing and greasy-relieving. 🍰 Dessert to End Without Disappointment Pavlova: A classic New Zealand dessert, with crispy meringue paired with fresh cream and fruits, sweet but not cloying, with rich texture layers, and it's a standard dessert in local restaurants. In fact, Auckland is not a "food desert" at all, you just need to explore a little more~ Whether you want to experience high-end cuisine or eat down-to-earth street food, you can be satisfied here. Friends coming to travel can just go for it with confidence! #food #NewZealand #Auckland #AucklandFood #NewZealandAuckland #FoodExploration #AucklandSkyTower #AucklandFoodHunt #NewZealandTravel #NewZealandNorthIsland
