Australia's Sixth Largest City 🌊

Newcastle is the political, commercial, and cultural hub of northern England, a city that seamlessly blends the ancient with the modern. 📍 Recommended Attractions: 1⃣️ High Level Bridge 2⃣️ Swing Bridge 3⃣️ Tyne Bridge 4⃣️ Gateshead Millennium Bridge These bridges lie in sequence along the River Tyne. The High Level Bridge comes highly recommended; walking across it offers a sweeping view of the other three bridges. 5⃣️ Newcastle Castle 🏰 The castle is a prominent landmark of Newcastle. Built in 1080, it is a medieval fortress, and the city’s name "Newcastle" derives from it. It is well worth a visit – climbing to the top affords a panoramic view of the entire city. ⏰ Opening hours: 10:00-17:00 🎫 Ticket price: Student ticket £8.25, available for purchase both online and offline. Offline purchase is recommended as there are no handling fees, and the ticket is valid for 1 year. 6⃣️ The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas The cathedral is a 2-minute walk from the castle, making it easy to visit them as part of a single route. 🎫 Admission: Free ⏰ Opening hours: 18:00-17:00 (Saturday and Sunday) / 18:00 (weekdays) 7⃣️ Tynemouth 🏖️ If you have enough time, a trip to this seaside area is a must!! Unlike many other coastal towns I’ve visited, which have stony shores, this one boasts fine sandy beaches 🌊. Sunbathing, surfing, swimming, and playing rugby 🏈 here create the perfect summer vibe 🚇 Transportation: Take the metro from Newcastle city center. Buy an Adult ticket covering zones A+B+C, which has now increased to £6.2. You can pay with a card or Apple Pay. Get off at Tynemouth Station – it’s just a 10-minute walk to the seaside and Tynemouth Castle The castle is open daily from 10:00-17:00, so those wanting to visit the interior should keep an eye on the time 🕐. For the return journey, you can take the metro from Cullercoats Station. Walking along the coastline from Tynemouth Castle to the station, you’ll pass many attractions such as an aquarium and parks. It’s truly an ideal place to enjoy a slow-paced lifestyle. #SeasideForaging #UK #Newcastle #LifeInTheUK #Tynemouth #NewcastleCastle #UKDayTrip #TyneBridge #StudyInTheUK
