Authentic Congee Hot Pot with Northeast-Sized Portions! This Meal Was

📍 Landing Restaurant 4023 Cambie St., Vancouver, BC V5Z 2X9 Canada Last weekend, I finally tried the famous Landing Restaurant with friends. Let me cut to the chase: flavor, portion size, ingredient quality, and service were all absolutely perfect! 💯 😋 Flavor Highlights It was my first time trying congee hot pot—I’ve always been a fan of Chongqing spicy hot pot or Mongolian lamb hot pot, so I was skeptical at first. But one bite and I was converted! 🍲✨ The ingredients were incredibly fresh: shrimp paste 🍤 and live rockfish 🐟 paired with mushrooms and the congee broth created a rich, comforting umami experience. The fried fish head was crispy and flavorful. The beef tongue and pork liver were so tender and smooth, with no unpleasant taste at all. 🍚 Portion Size – Unbelievably Generous! I never expected a Cantonese-style hot pot place to serve portions that rival Northeast Chinese portions❗️ The spinach, crown daisy, tofu, and mushrooms we ordered were only half portions, yet four of us couldn’t finish everything! We happily took leftovers home. 🥡 ✨ Service – The Best I’ve Ever Experienced The service here truly stood out. Here’s why: 1️⃣ Our plates were changed at least four times during the meal—the server couldn’t stand seeing any scraps left on them! 🍽️ 2️⃣ The live rockfish was brought to our table before cooking—still swimming in a bucket 🐟💦—so we could see how fresh it was. A nice touch of ceremony! 3️⃣ One Cantonese server spoke perfect Mandarin and not only served us but also taught us the best way to enjoy congee hot pot. He even showed us how to properly add the shrimp paste (turns out we’d been doing it wrong 😅). To top it off, we received a complimentary dessert! 🍨 The service was warm, friendly, and humorous—but never overbearing like some other hot pot chains. It felt genuine and just right. Final Thoughts: A must-try congee hot pot spot with fantastic food, huge portions, and service that makes you feel truly valued. Highly recommended! 👏 #CongeeHotPot #HotPotInWinter #SeattleEats #SeattleArea #SeattleWeekend #SeattleLife #SeattleFoodExploration #VancouverFood #VancouverLife #FoodieReview
