Award-Worthy BBQ Joints Around Charlotte – Worth Waiting 4 Hours For!

This North Carolina trip was all about celebrating my meat-obsessed partner’s birthday, with the whole itinerary packed full of high-protein, high-calorie feasts.🥩 🍏🍏Ever since we got back from Texas, we’d been struggling to find satisfying American BBQ in New York.💞 These three spots in North Carolina totally hit the spot and cured our cravings:🥒 Jon G's Barbecue 🥩 4-Meat & 3-Side Platter – $115 📝 Open only one day a week, from 11:00 AM until sold out. 😍 Word on the street is you’ll miss out if you don’t show up before 10:00 AM. 🍟 🏡They also serve breakfast tacos early in the morning, but those usually sell out around 9:30 AM – arrive by 9:00 AM sharp if you want to try everything.💐 We joined the line at 10:00 AM and didn’t get to sink our teeth into the meat until 2:00 PM – that’s 4 hours of waiting under the blazing sun! 🌼 😍Most people in the queue brought their own camping chairs, and Jon G’s was kind enough to provide free water and beer.🍉 🍪🍪The menu has all the classic BBQ staples, but the daily specials that day were beef ribs and smoked pork belly – we were gutted to miss out on the beef ribs. ✨ My personal favorite was the White Brisket, aka smoked fatty pork belly. 🍡🍡 The fat melted in my mouth like butter, and the lean meat was tender and juicy, not the least bit dry.☃️ The side of beef fried rice was packed with rich meaty flavor too.🌹🌹🌹 THE SMOKE PIT 🍽️ Ribs & Brisket Combo – $33 📝 We got there at 6:00 PM on a Friday, and the parking lot was already 90% full with a huge line snaking in front of the counter. 😛😛 This place beats any BBQ joint in New York hands down. 🐙 The brisket was a bit on the fatty side, but the smoky aroma was absolutely divine. 🌻 The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavor, and we loved their sweet BBQ sauce. Plus, the cornbread was moist and delicious!🧀🧀 Midwood Smokehouse 🥩 Meat Combo – $33 📝 The combo comes with four meats: ribs, brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork. Even the small portion was so massive we couldn’t finish it. 🍗 The pulled pork and chicken were just okay, but the ribs and brisket stole the show. ❣️❣️ 💞💞The ribs were easily the best of the three spots – they literally slid off the bone at the touch of a fork. The brisket had a perfect fat-to-meat ratio, with only a tiny bit of dryness.✨✨ 📝 is delicious, but I’d hesitate to wait another 4 hours for it – that’s why tops the revisit list. Still, all three spots were more than enough to satisfy my meat-loving partner’s cravings.🎄🎄 #GlobalFoodieChallenge #AmericasFoodFiesta #NorthCarolinaBBQ #CharlotteNC #CharlotteFood #FoodAroundCharlotte
