Back in LA, Eating Mode Activated! 10+ Food Map & Must-Try List 🀀

As an LA native who’s been away lately, I came back and went straight into a weekend food marathon πŸ˜‚ Blame the Bay Area for being a food desert… Sharing my latest west β†’ east eats β€” both old favorites and new finds. Locations marked, let's go! πŸš€ πŸ“ 🍣 Kappo Miyabi (Santa Monica) Rare high-quality sushi by the beach! Must-try: unagi stone hot rice pot, dinner temaki set, blue crab uni box. πŸ“ 🍒 Torihei Yakitori Robata Dining (Torrance) Chicken skin + meatball were good, but for yakitori I still prefer Torimatsu (was fully booked that day though). πŸ“ 🍲 Jook Hyang (Ktown) In one word: ABALONE PORRIDGE. Beats every other congee place! πŸ“ πŸ”₯ Feng Mao BBQ (Ktown) Not as good as before… Skip the marinated beef skewers (tastes like char siu πŸ˜‚). Sweet & sour pork still crispy but too sour now. πŸ“ 🌢️ Yi Pin Xiang (San Gabriel) The ultimate! Pro tip: ask for β€œno MSG + less salt” + pair with bitter melon juice next door. Perfection! πŸ“ πŸ«” Noodle St (Pasadena) Best beef scallion pancake wrap in LA! Crispy, loaded with scallions and meat + sweet bean sauce 🀀 Hand-shaved noodles also a must. πŸ“ πŸ› Kyuramen (Arcadia) Skewers were tasty, curry omelette rice was fine β€” but skip the fried pork chop (meat quality low, noodles just okay). πŸ“ πŸ₯© iWagyu BBQ (Rowland Heights) Set meals are filling and delicious. Sign up as a member β†’ get free meat (membership practically pays for itself). πŸ“ 🌢️ Chuan Shan Jia (Rowland Heights) Maybe I ordered wrong… but not impressed. Spicy chicken was painfully hot, mapo tofu was average. Heard the mushroom fried rice is good though? πŸ“ 🍰 Yu Cake (San Gabriel) Theis what I missed most! Blueberry cheesecake recommended (even better frozen). Skip the crepe cake. πŸ“ 🍈 ici Tea (San Gabriel) New favorite: bitter melon pomelo tea! With pomelo, even 0% sugar isn’t bitter. Last time 2x bitter melon was mild β€” trying 3x next! πŸ“ β˜• % Arabica (The Grove) If they validate parking, I’d buy multiple cups. πŸ“ πŸ₯€ About Time (Ktown) Am I the only one who thinks their pistachio latte is just… meh? πŸ“ πŸ¦„ Unicorn Coffee (Pasadena) Marshmallows are for photos only β€” coffee is good but servings are small. πŸ“ πŸ₯₯ LELECHA (Rowland Heights) Coconut slushie β€” so refreshing! Cakes are nice too. Tiramisu book cake is trending. πŸ“ πŸ§‹ Miro Mochi (Rowland Heights) New spot, always busy. Cute vibe, but the fresh milk mochi was just okay for me. #Foodie #LosAngelesEats #LADiscovery #WestLAFood #SGVFood #KtownLA
