Baek Jong-won’s Korean BBQ Restaurant Saemaeul Opens in Dallas
Last week, I saw that Baek Jong-won’s BBQ restaurant had opened. On Saturday, it was so popular that many of the meats were sold out early, and they had to close before the usual time. It was a real hit!🔥 For those who missed out, we planned to visit during the weekday and get there early to try it. Today, we arrived at the restaurant at 4 p.m. The staff told us that they now have a lunch break and start serving dinner at 5 p.m. So, we went to HMart for a bit and came back just in time for when they opened. We ordered soju to go with our meat. The soju glasses were chilled, which was a nice touch. The alcohol was almost frozen when poured, making it very refreshing to drink. We also saw the old-fashioned lunch box and thought it looked interesting, so we ordered it to try. The restaurant manager came over and did a funny “shaking lunch box” performance, which was really entertaining. Does shaking the box make the food taste better?🤣 ❤️For the meat, we ordered the small set of pork and beef, which was $69.99 and had a good amount of meat. We also added the must-try signature Yeoltan Bulgogi (spicy). The steak in the set was very tender and had delicious marinade. It was our favorite dish. The beef tongue was just okay, but it was still good with the dipping sauce and garlic. The pork belly was a pleasant surprise. 🥀Neither my partner nor I are big fans of pork belly, but theirs was so flavorful, with a perfect balance of fat and lean meat, and not greasy at all. It was delicious! The signature Yeoltan Bulgogi (spicy) had a strong and flavorful marinade with plenty of spice. We even ate it with the lunch box and took the leftovers home with the remaining rice. 😁 #RestaurantReview #BBQ #KoreanFood #KoreanBBQ #DallasArea #Dallas #DallasFood
