🏮 Baltimore Food | IZAKAYA 68 – Cozy Japanese Pub in Hunt Valley!

Baltimore finally has its own izakaya! Though it’s a bit far in Hunt Valley, it’s still closer than driving to DMV. Overall, it’s a solid spot – highly recommended if you have a car! 🚗💨 📍 Address: 100 Shawan Rd suite A, Hunt Valley, MD We visited on a Sunday night – the space is huge, beautifully decorated in authentic Japanese style, and offers great privacy with well-separated tables. It wasn’t too busy (maybe because it’s still soft opening?), but the vibe was warm and inviting. Note: They don’t serve alcohol yet 🚫🍶, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the food! We ordered 9 small dishes (mostly priced at $5.88-$6.88) and spent around $72 for two. 🍱 What We Tried: Wasabi Octopus 🐙 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fresh, well-marinated with wasabi, and served with cucumber and seaweed – a classic appetizer done right! Beef Bowl (Gyudon) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Larger than expected! Lightly seasoned but tasty – though it could use more meat. Yakisoba ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sweet and savory with plenty of cabbage and chicken – generous portion! Grilled Skewers 🍢 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chicken thigh and wings – tender, juicy, and perfectly grilled! A bit pricey for the size, but delicious. Fried Skewers ⭐⭐⭐ Lotus root and pork loin – crispy but greasy. Not our favorite. Karaage Chicken 🐔 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ MUST ORDER! Huge, juicy pieces with crispy skin – served with spicy mayo. So good! Korokke (Croquette) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Crispy outside, creamy inside, with cheesy corn topping – nostalgic and flavorful! 🤖 Tech-Friendly Dining: Robot servers + QR code ordering – great for introverts! Just be prepared for the robot’s catchy (and repetitive) music 🎶😂. Verdict: A great place for a quiet, relaxed meal with friends. The pricing is a bit inconsistent (some dishes are totally worth it, others not so much), but the quality is there. Plus, you can grab bubble tea next door at Gong Cha or Matsu no Cha after! 🧋 #BaltimoreEats #Izakaya68 #JapaneseFood #DMVFood #HuntValley #FoodReview
