Barcelona’s Surprisingly Amazing Niche Restaurant
💕💕I’ve always been skeptical of Western so-called ‘plant-based’ restaurants, with all their clever marketing and pretentious eating habits, thinking they’re super healthy, but the nutrition is far from balanced. 💕💕I visited this “plant-based healthy restaurant” in Barcelona mainly because my stomach couldn’t handle days of heavy meat and fish while traveling with my parents. I had zero expectations, but the food they served completely blew me away. You see, for me to say it’s delicious is a rare occurrence. They’re not promoting vegetarianism, but a balanced diet, with a focus on vegetables, low-temperature cooking for natural fermentation, and fish rich in omega fats, which is something I generally appreciate. 💕💕Basically, butter and cream are replaced with nut-based sauces, like cashews, which I thought would lack in flavor, but their dishes were not only balanced in taste but also opened up a whole new world of flavor experiences. After a few courses, I was dining comfortably, 💕💕The “non-potato potato chips” made with kale and turmeric (not fried, baked) sounded unappetizing but were actually very thoughtfully flavored. Did you know that turmeric with nuts and salt can taste like European mustard? It also has a unique aroma, and these chips cleverly utilize this. 💕💕Zucchini lasagna. The noodles are replaced with zucchini, the cream sauce with cashew-based sauce, and it’s topped with refreshing tomato and goji berries, definitely worth a try (if you like Ajo Blanco, the Spanish almond soup, you must not miss this); 💕💕Gazpacho, the classic Spanish tomato cold soup Trust me, this place will not disappoint #FoodieMap #BarcelonaFood #HiddenGemRestaurant #Food #BarcelonaFoodie #Barcelona
