Barcelona's Delectable Boca Grande
The first trip of 2024 took me to Barcelona, Spain, to attend the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC). During this time, I met up with friends and we dined at Boca Grande, a Michelin-starred restaurant located near Plaça de Catalunya. You can find this place on Dianping if you're interested. Upon entering, the ambiance of the restaurant is quite impressive, featuring a wall of fine wines, some of which are priced quite high by the restaurant. You can even sign your name on the bottle, which is a unique feature. The decor is heavily artistic, with dreamy corridors and restrooms that are worth photographing. The food I highly recommend falls into three main categories: seafood, beef, and desserts. Among the seafood, the prawns are the star, with a sweet and fresh flavor that makes them one of the best I've ever had. The fish is also quite good. I forgot how the beef was cooked, but it was delicious; medium-rare to medium (5-7) is more tender and flavorful. Lastly, the desserts are plentiful, with an excellent balance of color, aroma, and taste. They are both visually appealing and delicious, even someone like me couldn't resist having a couple more bites. It's also worth mentioning the Spanish red wine, PINGUS, produced by one of Spain's top wineries. We opened both the main and secondary labels, with the main label signed and hung on the wall—I'll have to check if it's still there next time. The main label is pricier but has a fantastic taste. Compared to the richness of the main label, the secondary label is more suitable for casual sipping and offers better value for money. I enjoyed both wines and highly recommend them for tasting. The overall standard of Spanish red wines is excellent, and wines from other wineries are also worth trying. Lastly, in Spain, especially when pairing with red wine or bread, ham is indispensable—it's perfect with red wine. #SpanishCuisine #Spain #Barcelona #DailyFinds
