Bay Area Gardens|Filoli Historic House & Garden
Originally built by a wealthy family during California’s Gold Rush era, Filoli is now managed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and open to the public. Its name comes from the first two letters of the motto: "Fight for a just cause; Love your fellow man; Live a good life." 🌿🏡 The estate has three main areas to explore: 1️⃣ The Historic House – A European-style mansion decorated for Halloween with a whimsical, almost haunted/Harry Potter vibe. The paper owl decoration was especially charming! 🦉✨ 2️⃣ The Formal Gardens – Divided into themed sections with various flowers and plants. While pleasant, the garden design felt somewhat conventional. The stunning swimming pool, however, was absolutely inviting—I almost wanted to jump in! 💦😄 3️⃣ The Woodland Trail – Features an art installation called "Trolls: Save the Humans," with six giant wooden trolls hidden among the trees. Each has a unique name and purpose, like one dedicated to recycling trash, all meant to inspire environmental awareness and respect for nature. 🌲🧌🌎 A peaceful and photogenic escape, perfect for a relaxed stroll or a dose of seasonal magic! #BayAreaLife #HistoricGarden #Filoli #BayAreaOutdoors #NatureWalk #ArtInNature #WeekendVibes 🍂📸
