BC Travel | Day Trip to Kamloops from Vancouver

Kamloops Adventure Day 😜 Due to the wildfires, downtown Kamloops was covered in heavy haze—thick smoke smell and visible ash in the air. To avoid breathing in poor air quality, we decided to adjust our plans last minute. šŸ³ Brunch at Red Beard Cafe We craved a classic American breakfast, so we ordered simple toast and eggs benny—delicious! Their coffee was rich and aromatic too. ā˜• 🌲 Kenna Cartwright Park Before driving out to find clearer skies, we took a short walk in this central park with multiple hiking trails and scenic viewpoints. The views of Kamloops were stunning, but we only explored the outskirts due to the smoke. Next time, we’ll return for a full hike! šŸš— Escaping the Smoke Using BC’s real-time wildfire map, we drove east and lucked out—just 20km out, we crossed the haze/blue sky divide! We found Paul Lake Provincial Park, a local favorite. With few people around, we inflated our paddleboard and floated peacefully on the water. A hidden gem indeed! šŸ½ļø Dinner at a Famous Local Indian Restaurant The menu was impressive (see pics!). They even had Indian-inspired cocktails—I tried the "Lusty Orange" and loved it! šŸ¹ ✨ Day 4 = Success! Hope the BC wildfires end soon… #Vancouver #RoadTrip #ExploreBC #TravelCanada #WildfireAwareness
