Benalmádena: Málaga’s Hidden Gem Resort Town
#ProofThatHumansAreObsessedWithSummer Málaga itself is compact, but its surrounding coastal towns—nestled between mountains and sea—are perfect for a relaxed getaway. As a spontaneous traveler (P-personality energy! ✨), I booked a stay in Benalmádena on a whim. Quieter than the city, it’s dotted with golf courses, pools, and pristine beaches—pure bliss. 🌴☀️ Must-See Spots: 🏰 Colomares Castle Monument (Castillo Monumento Colomares) From afar, this castle looks like a mirage! Built in the late 20th century by a local doctor (who funded it himself), it blends multiple architectural styles. The coolest part? It features Columbus’s three ships—Santa María, Pinta, and Niña—carved into the design. Even the detailed Chinese-language guide surprised me! 🕍 Stupa of Enlightenment Near the castle (across from the Butterfly Park), this Buddhist monument—rarely open to the public—might be Spain’s only Buddhist structure. 🧘♂️ Getting Around: 🚗 Best by car, but the Cercanía commuter trains run frequently too. #SpainTravel #Málaga #HiddenGems #StudyAbroadSpain #Andalusia #OffTheBeatenPath 🌍💫
