I Found My Restaurant of the Year in the Alleyways of the Old Town in
It feels like every time I come to Spain, I add another “lifetime restaurant” to my list 🥹 This one was recommended by the hotel reception. There are three consecutive restaurants in this narrow alley, all belonging to the same owner. It didn’t look impressive when I passed by, but I thought maybe I could come for dinner. Turns out, by 6.30 pm, the alley was packed with waiting guests 🤯🤯 (Dinner time in Spain is usually around 8-9 pm.) I was told that they were already fully booked for the day and a reservation was necessary. So, I made a reservation for the next day, and there’s a charge of 40e/person for no-shows. I was curious about what made this place so confident. But the moment I tasted the food, I realized everything could be forgiven 🥹 1️⃣ Lobster and caviar sandwich on brioche 2️⃣ Red prawn 3️⃣ Octopus 🐙 4️⃣ Pork cheek 5️⃣ Sheep’s milk cheese cake 6️⃣ Fish soup and bread as a starter (with goat butter) To be honest, the menu was a bit hard to understand, with some unique/strange combinations and cooking methods. But when it hit my palate: the chef definitely had his reasons 🌹 Worth mentioning is that the red prawn and octopus were prepared and cooked right in front of us by the chef. Spaniards are chatty and passionate, which was a fun plus. They also gifted us two small cups of sea bass soup, incredibly fresh and aromatic. The bread before the meal was fresh and delicious, and the goat butter it was paired with was the most delicious butter I’ve ever tasted in my life 🧈 It had a texture similar to clotted cream. If you’re near Malaga/Marbella, I’d say it’s one of the most worthwhile experiences. It’s about the ingredients, not the price. Our meal was about 120 euros. #SpanishCuisine #TreasureRestaurantShare #LifetimeRestaurant #Malaga #SpainMalaga #Málaga #Marbella #MarbellaFood
