Berlin | Visit the Ruins Amusement Park Before Winter Arrives
☀️ The weather in September is absolutely beautiful! ☀️ Spreepark, the only theme park from the East German era, closed down due to poor management after the reunification, and has been abandoned for twenty years. I've always wanted to check it out, but access has been nearly impossible unless you illegally climb over the fences. 💁🏻♂️ I stumbled upon a newspaper article about guided tours at Spreepark! There are several tours every weekend, including one in English. The tickets are only €5, which was a delightful surprise, so I quickly booked online. 📸 We joined the English tour, led by a guy from Chicago who is studying cultural heritage. The 70-minute tour was engaging, filled with interesting stories about the park, its attractions, and future renovation plans. As a landscape designer, I found it particularly fascinating. You can take photos freely in the park, but you're not allowed to wander off on your own; you must stick to the main paths. I think €5 is a steal, so ruin enthusiasts shouldn't miss out! The Berlin government has been planning to renovate the park and reopen it to the public, but given the slow progress, this wild and untouched state won't last forever, so it's best to hurry! ✉️ Spreepark Official Website 💰 €5 + €1 service fee #Berlin #Weekend #Ruins #AmusementPark #Park
