When it comes to Louisiana, you can’t miss the seafood — especially crawfish! 🎣 If there’s one thing Louisianans and Chinese people have in common, it’s our love for crawfish! While folks in other states might say “Ewwww,” here we say “Heck yeah!” — especially when it’s Cajun-style, spicy and full of flavor 😋🔥. Here are my go-to crawfish spots in Baton Rouge every crawfish season: 🦞 Chow Yum Phat They specialize in ramen (not my fav 😬) and buns, but for a short 1-2 months a year, they serve crawfish — and it tastes just like the style back in China! Loaded with cilantro, peanuts, quail eggs… so good! Their pig ears are also recommended. Rating: 4.5/5 (a bit pricey + short season, so -0.5) (Fun fact: I just realized the is Chow Yun-fat! 🤯) 🔥 Sammy's Grill True Cajun-style crawfish — and SPICY! 🌶️ Love it. Their Po'boys are delicious too. It gets super busy though; often no dine-in seats available at night. Also, skip the oysters here. Rating: 4/5 🍤 Juicy Seafood They offer 4-5 different seasoning options and spice levels. Their flavor leans toward the mala (numbing-spicy) style like in China. Rating: 4/5 🚐 Crawfish on the Geaux Such a cute little food truck! 🛻 The price changes daily and is usually pretty affordable. The crawfish are a good size and full of Cajun goodness. Rating: 4/5 🍻 Lakeside Bar & Daiquiris It’s a bar — crawfish are decent but not amazing. The real draw? Tuesday all-you-can-eat crawfish + drinks for just $20! Great for hanging out with friends.
