French Quarter ๐ญ: Full of quirky gift shops ๐, charming bars, and live jazz โ though I missed the outdoor performances due to rain ๐. St. Louis Cathedral โช: A must-see landmark! Day 2 โ New Orleans โ Baton Rouge Cajun Encounters Tour ๐: A 2-hour swamp adventure! Saw gators, owls, raccoons, snakes, wild boarsโฆ so cool! โ ๏ธ Donโt be late โ the boat wonโt wait! We had to reschedule ๐ Drove to Baton Rouge ๐ Explored LSU ๐ฏ and visited The Queen Casino ๐ฐ Watched the Mississippi River sunset ๐ โ absolutely breathtaking! ๐ Accommodation New Orleans: Airbnb near French Quarter (~15 min drive) Baton Rouge: Stayed at Cook Hotel at LSU ๐จ ๐ Food Highlights Bearcat CBD โ: Rose Water Latte โ floral and sweet (maybe a bit too sweet for some) Luke ๐ฆช: HUGE, fresh, sweet Gulf oysters โ no fishy taste! Happy hour: 1 dozen for $15. (Skip the fried oysters though ๐ฌ) Cafรฉ du Monde ๐ฉ: Famous for beignets โ think sugar-drenched French-style donuts. So good! CRAWFISH at Sammyโs Grill Highland ๐ฆ: UNREAL DEAL! cheaper than Changsha!! ๐ 5 lbs + tax/tip โ $20 per person. Clean, well-cooked, perfectly spiced โ not too hot.
