Better Than in Peru! Boston's Hidden Gem for Peruvian Cuisine
๐ด LA ROYAL ๐ 221 Concord Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138 The overall experience was great, and the flavors exceeded my expectations โ even more enjoyable than some meals I had in Peru itself! The biggest advantage? Itโs not overly salty! A huge plus in my book. ๐ฝ Pastel Choclo Carne A unique combination of corn and beef. The corn filling is soft, slightly sweet, and pairs perfectly with the savory beef โ well-balanced and not greasy. ๐ฆ Arroz con Pato The duck was tender with a slight pink center โ cooked just right. The rice was flavorful but not overwhelming. My favorite dish of the night โ highly recommended! ๐ Leche de Tigre A classic Peruvian cold seafood dish. We tried the mixed version with raw fish, fried shrimp, and fried squid. The fried and raw textures didnโt blend well and competed in flavor. Suggest sticking to the raw fish version for a fresher taste. ๐ฎ Mousse de Lucuma I was excited to try the lucuma (egg fruit) mousse. It had the familiar flavor, but the texture lacked depth and felt overly rich after a few bites. ๐น La Royal Sour A solid, well-made cocktail with a mild alcohol presence. ๐น Chicha Morada The purple corn drink was just okay โ lacked the distinct corn aroma I was hoping for. ๐ฐ Per person: Around $70 #BostonWeekend #StudentTravel #InternationalStudents #BostonEats #BostonFoodGuide #Boston #HarvardEats #MITEats #RestaurantRecommendations #GlobalFoodSquad
