๐Ÿ Big Bear Lake | The Ultimate Fall Getaway Near LA

Iโ€™m absolutely in love with this place! Iโ€™d visited during winter break before, but Big Bear Lake in the fall is even more enchanting โ€” filled with maple trees, golden ginkgos, and vibrant colors everywhere. Itโ€™s a true hidden gem just a short drive from Los Angeles! Though the town itself is compact, itโ€™s packed with things to do, making it easy to plan a flexible weekend trip. Whether youโ€™re visiting for a day or staying overnight, itโ€™s totally worth it. Plus, fall Airbnb and hotel rates are much more affordable compared to the ski season ๐Ÿ‚ The autumn atmosphere is already in full swing โ€” youโ€™ll see red, orange, and yellow trees all around, and the best time for leaf-peeping lasts through mid-November. Here are some picture-perfect spots you shouldnโ€™t miss: ๐Ÿ“ Big Bear Village The heart of town, lined with maple trees โ€” many already blazing red ๐Ÿ Lots of cute shops and restaurants here, including some with lovely lake views. Great for souvenirs and meals โ€” though some stores close early, so plan ahead! Theyโ€™ve already started selling Halloween and Christmas decor โ€” itโ€™s extra magical during the holidays ๐ŸŽ„โ›„๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ Vons Plaza 42170 Big Bear Blvd, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 Behind this plaza is a gorgeous row of ginkgo trees โ€” a total hidden gem! We even saw other visitors taking photos there. This Vons is open late, perfect for last-minute snacks or supplies. ๐Ÿ“ Scenic Roads & Neighborhoods Some of the most stunning trees are just along the roadside โ€” we spotted fiery red maples and golden ginkgos just driving from our Airbnb to the village. Many cabins also have beautifully landscaped yards with towering trees โ€” so charming and photogenic ๐Ÿ“ธ ๐Ÿงฃ Mornings and evenings are quite chilly โ€” bring a jacket! The sound of rustling leaves in the wind is incredibly soothing โ€” a true escape from city life. As once said: โ€œWhat could be so important that we miss out on the four seasons?โ€ This weekend, we escaped LA and found autumn waiting for us ๐Ÿ’ซ Beyond the stunning foliage, thereโ€™s so much to do: ๐Ÿ›ถ Kayaking | ๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ Boating | ๐Ÿšฒ Biking | ๐Ÿš  Alpine Slide | ๐Ÿ•๏ธ Parks | ๐Ÿชจ Hiking Stay tuned for my next post โ€” more adventures to share! #BigBearLake #FallFoliage #LAGetaway #AutumnVibes #MapleLeafTrail #NatureEscape
