Big Cats on Duty at Cologne Zoo πŸ…πŸ¦’

This is the fifth century-old zoo I've visited in Europe, and it's characterized by its feline animals being much more active than others I've seen. The tigers, lions, and leopards at previous zoos usually didn't want to come out and perform. The high-spirited snow leopards, along with their feline relatives like cheetahs, Persian leopards, and Asian lions, are all very cooperative, but they stay within a safe observation distance. Based on my previous experiences, the appearance rate of feline animals is particularly low; they can be considered the least active employees in the zoo. So, it's a pleasant surprise in Cologne! There's also a huge "Elephant Paradise" where a family of Asian elephants, big and small, live. I heard the squeals of the baby elephants, but there's definitely a smell in the inner area; the "Hippo Hall" houses hippos and Nile crocodiles, the latter being quite special since most other zoos mainly keep smaller crocodiles; the giant anteater was also very active that day, running around the enclosure, which was not seen at all in Frankfurt. The student ticket is 17.5€, including both the Zoo and Aquarium, making it a great weekend destination! #Germany #Zoo #Cologne #SnowLeopard
