Big Island, Hawaii: Ultimate Circle Island Tour

Since the Big Island is larger than Oahu with limited public transport, I joined a full-day guided tour (7 AM pickup → 7 PM drop-off at Kona hotels). Here’s the adventure: ☕ Kona Coffee Farm Kona coffee: Smooth, not bitter or acidic—flavorful! Guide tip: Kau district coffee is also top-tier. ⬛ Punalu’u Black Sand Beach Volcanic magic: Black sand = lava cooling in seawater! Sea turtle nesting site 🐢 (way wilder than Oahu’s beaches). 🌋 Volcanoes National Park No lava flows this time, but microclimates amazed me—desert → rainforest in minutes! 🌈 Rainbow Falls (Hilo) Pretty but not mind-blowing (China has grander waterfalls 😅). 🌧️ Akaka Falls + Hilo Vibes Falls were meh, but Hilo’s rainy charm vs. Kona’s sunshine = stark contrast! 🏞️ Waipi’o Valley Historic battleground where King Kamehameha unified Hawaii.
