Big Sur｜A Magical Encounter with a Sea of Clouds ☁️✨

We drove south to visit the famous restaurant Sierra Mar at Post Ranch Inn. The weather in December was surprisingly beautiful! Sitting by the window, we were greeted by an endless, dreamy sea of clouds—absolutely breathtaking! 🌄 The lunch was delicious! For our main courses, we chose grilled chicken and pan-seared fish. The chef also prepared incredibly fresh and tender pea shoots and Jerusalem artichokes—a delightful surprise that made this Sichuan food lover super happy! ❤️ Priced at $75 per person, it’s totally worth a revisit! 🍽️👍 After lunch, while strolling around, we ran into a staff member who offered to give us a room tour! We got to see the stunning mountain-view rooms, the unique treehouses, and even a cozy Hobbit-style cottage where opening the door reveals a breathtaking sea of clouds! 🛖🌫️ Each room was beautifully designed, and I especially loved the mid-century vintage furniture. Compared to Alila, the rooms at Post Ranch Inn feel more private and distinctive. The only downside? It’s more expensive, not all-inclusive, and not pet-friendly. 😅 We spent the next few days relaxing at Alila Ventana. Reading on a hammock until dozing off, watching the sunset over the sea of clouds from the lawn, listening to the crackling sound of burning wood in the fireplace, breathing in the scent of redwood trees in the mountains, and gazing up at a sky full of stars at night… It felt like all our worries just melted away. Truly a healing escape for us hardworking folks! 🧘♀️🌠 Maybe because it was after Thanksgiving and the hotel wasn’t too crowded, we got automatically upgraded to a suite! 🎉 I also signed up for a candle-making and honey workshop, joined a garden tour, and went hiking. The experiences were great and not crowded—highly recommend visiting during off-peak seasons!
